My name is Devendra Khambalkar, and I am the person behind Hindu Temple Guide. I am from Nagpur, Maharashtra, and I have been passionate about Hindu temples, pilgrimage travel, and our spiritual heritage for as long as I can remember. This site is my attempt to create the resource I wished existed when I first started travelling to temples.

My Spiritual Foundation

My journey began in Nagpur, Maharashtra, amidst the comforting aromas of incense and the sacred sounds of morning aarti. Growing up in a deeply devoted household, my earliest memories are of standing barefoot on cold temple floors, feeling an inexplicable connection to rituals I didn’t yet fully understand. That feeling never left me.

As I grew older, I began making pilgrimages on my own — first nearby temples across Maharashtra, then further. I trekked to Kedarnath through snow and rain. I completed the full Char Dham Yatra. I sought blessings at Tirupati before sunrise and felt the extraordinary stillness of Shirdi. Each journey taught me something new — not just spiritually, but practically.

My Pilgrimage Quest

Each pilgrimage, while deeply enriching, also revealed a significant problem: the information available to fellow pilgrims was fragmented, often outdated, and unreliable. I was always piecing together details from outdated PDFs, random WhatsApp forwards, and five different websites — none of which were written by someone who had actually made the journey.

“This personal struggle for reliable information directly inspired the creation of Hindu Temple Guide. I built the platform I wished I had during my own travels — written from real visits, real questions, and lessons learned the hard way.”

I am not a professional travel writer. I am just someone from Nagpur who loves temples, has made the journeys, and wants to help others do the same without the confusion I went through.

Spiritual exploration

From Social Media to a Comprehensive Guide

Before the launch of HinduTempleGuide.com in 2026, my passion for temples found a vibrant home on social media. I shared temple reels, virtual darshans, historical facts, dynasty stories, and spiritual content. The hundreds of questions I received — about yatra registration, darshan timings, how to reach remote temples — made it clear that a dedicated, well-organised website was genuinely needed. That is what led me to build this.

My Vision

I believe temples are not merely places of worship — they are living centres of culture, history, architecture, and spiritual energy that have stood for thousands of years. Yet many remain unknown, and even well-known ones are often poorly documented online.

My goal with Hindu Temple Guide is to change that — one article, one guide, one shared experience at a time. Whether you are planning your first Kedarnath yatra or looking for a temple circuit you have never explored, I hope this site becomes a resource you genuinely trust and return to.

Connect with Me

I read every message personally. If you have a question about a pilgrimage, a tip about a temple I should cover, or want to share your own yatra story — I would love to hear from you.
